More about Amazing Grace GWA...

Amazing Grace GWA came to us after the sudden death of her breeder, Sherri Graves of Grand West Arabians.  Sherri had bred Arabians for 30 years, and "Grace" was among only a handful of horses retained as the future of her herd.  She is a striking 15.3hh bay Arabian mare that seems to catch everyone's eyes.  She has definitely brought some Bey Shah-type gusto with her to Analiza Arabians!

SIRE:  NV Beau Bey, Sire Line:  *Mirage AHR*790 1919

NV Beau Bey was born a "star" in 1993, the product of two champions.  As a yearling, he became the Region 2 champion yearling colt and a US Top Ten yearling colt out of 41 entires that year.  He then became Florida state champion (at 2 yrs) and Scottsdale Top Ten 2-year old colt.  He is homozygous black, and produces size, trot, and charisma.  In 2001, he was the leading juvenille sire of halter and performance winners, and has been a sire of regional and national winners in both halter and performance.  He is also a full sibling to Bey Fireeshah, US National Champion Mare and US National Champion Futurity Filly.

This sire line goes up to *Mirage (1919), who was imported from the desert by Roger Selby in 1942.  Of his 26 registered get was his son, Image (1933), out of Crabbet-bred *Rifala by Skowronek.  Roger Selby retained him and got his progeny count to 73.  Image sired the stallion Arabi Kabir (1942) out of Crabbet-bred *Kareyma by Naseem (who was by Skowronek); this third generation Selby owned stallion sired 56.  Next in the sire line was Errabi (1949), who was bred and owned by Loyd Silva; he was out of Kellogg (Crabbet) bred mare, Ferdirah.  He was the sire of 29, and certainly his biggest accomplishment was his son, Bay-Abi++ (1957), out of Crabbet/Polish bred mare, Angyl.  Bay-Abi++ was purchased as a youngster by Sheila Varian, who then used him as the foundation of Varian Arabians (now over 50 years old).  He was shown to wins including US National Champion Stallion, and US Top Tens in Western Pleasure and English Pleasure.  He is then the sire of Bay El Bey++ (1969, out of Polish import *Naganka), sire of 446 and show rings wins including Scottsdale Champion Stallion, 5x US National Top Ten Stallion,  Canadian National Champion Stallion, and Scottsdale English Pleasure Champion.

NV Beau Bey is the son of the great Bey Shah+ (right), who blew the show world away with his beauty and charisma in the ring.   Bey Shah+ was sired by Bay El Bey++ and out of *Bask daughter Star of Ofir.  His show wins include 2x Scottsdale Champion Stallion (42 & 18 entries), US National Top Ten Stallion (83 entries), US Reserve Champion Stallion (57 entires), and Canadian National Top Ten Stallion (42 entries).  He is a leading all-time sire of halter champions, as well as sire of performance champions.  He is one of the highest progeny counts in the history of the breed at 984 registered get, and reportedly sold for $13 Million at one point.

NV Beau Bey is out of Bint Miss Fire (pictured left).  She is not only a US National Champion English Pleasure and US National Champion Pleasure Driving, but she is also an aristocrat producing dam.  She was sired by Gdansk++ (*Bask++ x *Gdynia++ by Comet, pictured right), who was pure Polish bred, sire of 644, and an accomplished Park Horse (including US National Top Ten Park Horse, Canadian National Reserve Champion Park Horse, and Scottsdale Champion Park Horse) and regional reserve champion stallion.

DAM:  Kaiyenne, Dam Line: Ghazieh EGYPT*234 (Desert bred)

Grace's dam, Kaiyenne (pictured left), is one of the most artistic looking mares I've ever seen.  Bred and owned throughout her life by Sherri Graves, the mare produced 10 foals.  As many breeders are aware of, Kaiyoum++ daughters are spectacular producers.  Kaiyoum++ (pictured right, grey) was arguably the best son of the great Khemosabi++++// (pictured right, bay), US National Champion stallion and highest producing Arabian sire of all time.  Kaiyoum++ was out of Bayanka, the daughter of US National Champion Bay-Abi++ and out of Polish import *Bachankta.  He was Canadian Reserve Champion stallion and US National Top Ten stallion, and he produced over 50 champions and 10 national winners.

Kaiyenne, and therefore Amazing Grace, has a tail female line that goes down to the desert (Egypt) bred mare Ghazieh (marked by the Pyramid Society as a Straight Egyptian Sheykh Obeyd Foundation horse).  The female line then traces to Horra, Helwa, and then Bint Helwa 1887 (all also part of the Sheykh Obeyd Foundation).  Bint Helwa, bred by Ali Pasha Sherif, was imported to the United Kingdom in 1897 by Wilfred Blunt.  There at Crabbet Stud the dam line was bred on for three generations.  In 1920, *Hilwe 1920 was imported to the United States by Roger Selby.  Through the generation of Aalban, this dam line was bred to Crabbet lines.  Zahr Ann was sired by Crabbet/Polish bred Bu-Zahr (pictured right).  Her daughter, Big Sky Terzera, was sired by Crabbet/Polish bred Tezmar (shown English Pleasure); this mare was purchased by Sherri Graves's family in 1982.  She was bred to Erros S Prophecy, a pure Polish bred stallion by *Erros (pictured left) and out of Polish import * Bibusja, to produce Eolian.  Eolian was bred ONE time and the result was Kaiyenne by Kaiyoum++.  Kaiyenne was therefore a 3rd generation Grand West Arabians horse and her daughter, Amazing Grace GWA, a 4th generation Grand West Arabians horse!
